The reason people get confused about Australia's location is because of its historical ties to Europe. Australia was a British colony, and as a result, it inherited many European customs, languages, and traditions. It's like when you move to a new city, and you bring your favorite recipes and hobbies with you - Australia brought its European roots with it, but it's still a distinct and separate country.

While you'll definitely find some European influences, you'll also experience the unique Australian culture, which is shaped by its indigenous people, Asian neighbors, and Pacific Islander friends. It's like trying a new pizza topping - you might be surprised at how much you love it!
