Fertile eggs are usually found at farmer’s markets or health food stores. They might be labeled “pasture-raised” or simply “fertile.” If you see a carton with a rooster on it, that’s your guy.
Regular grocery store eggs are almost always non-fertile. Why? Because farmers don’t want roosters around—they’re loud, fighty, and they kick the hens around. So your standard egg is a nun. Pure and unfertilized.
But if you get a box of fancy, expensive eggs from a local farm? Assume they’re fertile. That’s why they cost three bucks more. You’re paying for the romance.
