Unless you have pain, fever, or the bumps last longer than two weeks, you’re fine. Really. Your tongue is just being a weirdo. I, personally, check my tongue like a mad scientist every morning. It’s a hobby now.
If the bumps are super sore and make swallowing feel like swallowing glass, call a dentist or doctor. But for most of us, it’s just a temporary party trick.
Quick fixes while you wait for them to chill out
1. Rinse with salt water. Warm water + salt. Swish. It’s not fancy, but it works. Your tongue will thank you. Probably.
2. Avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods for a day or two. Yes, that means no hot wings or lemonade. I’m sorry. But your tongue needs a spa day.

3. Drink water. Like, a lot of it. A dry mouth makes bumps worse. Hydrate like you’re a houseplant on a sunny window sill.
4. Stop poking them with your tongue. I know you’re doing it right now. Stop. You’re making them angrier. Let them be.
