I had my eye test upstairs. The room is so white and clean it makes you feel like you’re on a spaceship. But in a good way—like Star Trek, not Alien.
The optometrist used a machine that puffed air into my eye. I flinched. She didn’t laugh. That’s a win, folks.
Before you know it, you’re reading letters off a chart. “E… F… P… T… O… Z…” Suddenly, you realize you’ve been missing the “D” for years. Oops.

Frames: The Dangerous Part
After the test, they let you loose on the frame wall. Dangerous. I tried on twenty pairs and looked like a confused celebrity in each one.
There’s a warm, caramel-coloured pair that I swear made me look like I drink gin and tonic on a yacht. I don’t, but the illusion was fun.
The staff give you honest feedback, too. No “everything looks amazing” lies. They’ll say, “Hmm, that one makes your face look… asymmetrical.” Brutal. But helpful.
