Maybe you’re reading this and thinking, “I don’t even own a drill. This isn’t for me.” But wait—it absolutely is for you. Because Thompsons isn’t just about tools; it’s about empowerment. It’s about the confidence that comes from knowing exactly where to go when the tap starts dripping.
It’s about not having to call an expensive tradesperson for every little job. One afternoon with the right advice from the team at Cattlegate Road, and you can fix a squeaky door, unblock a drain, or hang a mirror straight. You can be the hero of your own home.
Plus, there’s a real community spirit here. You’ll see builders chatting with weekend warriors. You’ll hear someone asking how to fix a lawnmower, and a complete stranger will chime in with a tip. It’s a proper local hub, not a cold, corporate aisle.

The Little Things That Make You Smile
I remember once asking a staff member for a specific type of glue. He didn’t just point to a shelf. He walked me over, picked up the tube, and said, “Now, this stuff is amazing, but it sets in three minutes. So have everything ready before you open it. And don’t get it on your favourite jeans. Trust me on that.”
That little story, that moment of genuine care, is why you care about Thompsons. It’s the difference between a transaction and a helpful conversation. It turns a chore into something oddly satisfying. You walk out not just with a product, but with a plan and a smile.
So, next time you’re in Enfield and you need a new padlock, a bag of cement, or even just some friendly advice about your creaking floorboards, take a drive to Cattlegate Road. Forget the big anonymous stores. Go to the place where they know their stuff, where the coffee is probably strong, and where you’re always treated like a regular, even if it’s your first time.
Thompsons Of Crews Hill Ltd isn’t just a building supplies merchant. It’s a reminder that the best things often come from places where people still talk to each other, and where a simple “How can I help?” actually means it. Go on, give yourself the gift of a job well done. Your wobbly table will thank you.
