Now, I know what you're thinking: "What about my giant purse or oversized backpack?" Well, Air Canada has got you covered. They have a nifty little size checker at the gate, which is basically a metal box that your carry-on needs to fit into. If it doesn't fit, you'll have to gate check it, which is just a fancy way of saying you'll have to wait at the gate for your bag to be loaded onto the plane.
But wait, it gets better! Air Canada also has some specific rules for items like musical instruments and strollers. Yep, you read that right - if you're traveling with a guitar or a stroller, you'll need to make sure it fits within the size limits or check it at the gate. Don't worry, they won't make you play a sad song on your guitar if it doesn't fit, but you might have to check it and pick it up at the baggage claim.
So, to avoid any carry-on chaos, make sure you measure your luggage before you leave for the airport. And, just to be safe, try to pack light - you don't want to be that person who has to do a baggage shuffle at the gate. Trust me, it's not worth the stress. Just remember: less is more, especially when it comes to carry-on luggage.
