Let’s get this out of the way: do not just toss them in the curbside recycling bin. I know, I know, it feels good. But most municipal recycling plants hate these things—they’re too small, too thick, or the wrong plastic blend. They often end up in a landfill anyway. Check the recycling symbol first; if it’s a #1 or #2 plastic, maybe, but even then, call your local center. Most of the time? Hard pass.
Also, please don’t just throw them in a random donation bin. Thrift stores are drowning in reusable bottles. They literally have a “bottle graveyard” out back. You are not a hero for donating a scratched-up bottle. You’re just delaying the landfill trip by six weeks.
