Stratford is, of course, the home of William Shakespeare. You expect cobblestones, old pubs, and a river. You don’t expect a massive Tesco Extra glaring at the playwright’s ghost.
Yet, there it is. Maybird sits right on the edge of town, a concrete and glass reality check. It’s the place you go after you’ve had your culture fix.
You emerge from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, blinking in the sun. Then you drive three minutes and suddenly you’re buying a lawnmower. It’s hilarious.
Quirk Factor: The Car Park Drama
The car park here is a character in its own right. It’s huge, pancake-flat, and surprisingly well-organised. But the quirks are what make it fun.
Look for the abandoned trolley shrine. There’s always one weirdly placed trolley, miles from any bay. It’s like a shopping protest.
Also, the electric vehicle charging points are oddly placed near the exit. You’ll see people doing twelve-point turns to plug in. It’s a spectator sport.
