The next time you look at the calendar and see a bank holiday looming, don’t fight it. Don’t Google “does the sorting office open?” eight times. Just nod wisely. Prepare on Saturday. Or, better yet, enjoy the break. The post office is closed. The world will not end. But if you really need a stamp, ask your neighbor. You’d be surprised how many people hoard first-class stamps like they’re treasure. And on a bank holiday, they basically are.
