Kim Tae-hyung was born in Seoul, South Korea, but grew up in the countryside, surrounded by rolling hills and not a lot else (think The Walking Dead, but with more K-pop!). It was a pretty isolated childhood, but one that clearly influenced his artistic side, as he spent hours upon hours drawing, writing, and generally being a creative genius. I mean, who needs friends when you have imagination, right?
But what's really interesting about V's childhood is that he was actually a pretty shy kid. I know, I know, it's hard to imagine the confident stage presence we know and love today being shy, but apparently, he was! He would often get nervous around new people, and would take a while to warm up to strangers. But hey, being shy clearly didn't hold him back, as he's now one of the most recognizable faces in K-pop!
As he got older, V began to develop a passion for photography, and would spend hours taking pictures of the world around him. It's a hobby that's stuck with him to this day, and one that's given us some amazing behind-the-scenes glimpses into the life of a K-pop idol. I mean, who wouldn't want to see candid shots of Jimin making silly faces, or Jungkook looking adorably sleep-deprived?
