In microeconomics, the stars are you, your neighbor, and that grumpy shopkeeper. The drama is all about supply and demand between these small actors. It feels personal—like when your favorite t-shirt brand hikes prices and you feel betrayed.
Macroeconomics, however, has a whole different cast. The main characters are governments, central banks, and international organizations. It’s a soap opera of fiscal policy, interest rate cuts, and trade wars. You’re just a passenger on that big ship.
If micro is a rom-com about your purchase decisions, macro is a war epic about national debt. Different genres, same species of “economics.” (And yes, you’re allowed to prefer the rom-com. No judgment here.)
