First, open your Steam client and click on your profile name in the top-right corner. From the dropdown menu, select Account Details. It’s like opening the dusty drawer of your digital life, but much less cluttered.
Once you’re on the Account Details page, scroll down a bit until you see a section called Store & Purchase History. Click that button that says “View purchase history.” Prepare for a trip down memory lane—and possibly a few financial regrets.
Here’s the magic part: you’ll see a list of every game, DLC, and in-game item you’ve ever bought. The date of purchase is right there in plain text, next to the item’s name. Boom. Case closed.
What If I Just Want One Game’s Date?
Don’t want to scroll through pages of past buys? I got you. Go back to your library, right-click on the game you’re curious about, and select Properties.
A window will pop up, and you’ll see a tab called “Installed Files.” Look for the section that says “Last Updated / Purchase Date.” Wait—Steam doesn’t always show the purchase date here for every game. Surprise! It’s a little inconsistent, like your internet connection during a big download.
If that fails, stick with the Purchase History method. It’s the most reliable friend you’ve got in this whole detective game.
