Emdin offers some practical strategies for overcoming these barriers and creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.
So, what's the takeaway from all this? It's that teaching in the hood is not just about teaching - it's about building relationships, creating community, and being willing to learn and grow. It's like being part of a big, happy family - you need to be willing to listen, adapt, and evolve in order to create a positive and supportive learning environment. And that's something that we can all learn from, regardless of where we teach or who we teach!
